Youth Missions Trip: Belize 2018

Belize Short Term Missions Trip

In Redemption Youth, we believe we are a part of the world-wide church. Because of this, we want to go and make disciples in all nations, and that includes Belize. So, we are sending a team in August to work with Pastor Pedro from Harvest Belize.

While there, we will be running a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the kids, while also having some programs for the youth and adults. We will be going into the community to do outreach and visitation, and bring blessing bags to people’s homes to give them some necessities they don’t normally have. Finally, we will be doing some manual labour like painting the school and other buildings. These are the greatest needs in that community, and our desire is to go and help strengthen the church! We may also get to spend some time at the Mayan Ruins and part of a day at a beach.

The next trip

We are sending our team from August 4-11. The team will be 15 people, including high school students and leaders. Our team members are: Jeremy Giesbrecht, Laurie Sherwood, Alex Peat, Brandon Morrison, Briahna Mitchell, Kendra Lall, Megan Bell, Kelsey Rombouts, Alyssa Ebert, Maya Carrier, Bethany Carrier, Olivia Pettit, Matt Hoad, Josh McKenna, and Somers Peat. Please pray for us as we have meetings, prepare, and raise funds to go to Belize. Thanks!

Our Belize team needs YOUR help. First, please pray for us as we iron out details, raise funds, and get excited for this trip! Going on a missions trip can be scary for some of the students (and leaders), so pray for them to have courage and rely on the Lord. Second, we need your help financially. If you’d like to give to the trip, please follow the link below. If you’re unable to give financially, but would still like to help, check out this event description:

The Belize team is having a Yard Sale on Friday May 11 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. and Saturday May 12 from 6:00 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Sherwood residence (1428 Commissioners Rd. W.) to help fundraise for the trip. Item donations are needed ASAP – good thing it’s spring cleaning time! We can either take donations at the church, or can arrange for a pick up.

Please contact Jeremy at with any questions or to have some items picked up.
